The MEDIA Distribution line of funding – International Sales Agents Scheme operates in similar lines to the Automatic Support, only that it is aimed at international sales agents aand not distribution companies. The Sales Agents scheme works in two phases:
- Phase 1: The Generation of a potential fund, which will be calculated according to the performance of the company on the European market during the reference period
- Phase 2: Reinvestment:
- minimum guarantees or advances paid for the international sales rights on eligible non-national European films;
- distribution costs of eligible non-national European films.
During the first phase, a potential Fund will be attributed to eligible European sales agents on the basis of their performance of admissions for the non-national European films during the reference period.
In the second stage, the sales agent is invited to apply for a reinvestment of the potential fund generated by one of the abovementioned means.
