In line with the strategic orientation of the European Commission and based on support for the cultural and creative sectors as an essential pillar of economic, social and cultural development, the Portuguese government created the Creative Europe Desk Portugal , (known locally as the Centro de Informação Europa Criativa), in order to provide local assistance. The Desk promotes the Creative Europe Programme to professionals in the cultural and creative sectors by providing information and offering support to potential candidates and all others interested in the programme's activities by helping them with their applications.
